About the Icons
This is a fun sparkling wine blend of Ugni Blanc, Chardonnay and Airen (an ancient Spanish varietal). It is fruity and clean with nice finishing acidity and is a great deal for only $11 a bottle. It is an ideal platform for Aperol Spritzers or Mimosas, particularly if you are expecting a crowd.
Pol Clement hails from the Loire Valley in France and is produced by the company whose founding father discovered over 100 years ago, a new, less expensive way to produce sparkling wine. French engineer, Eugene Charmat, developed a way for wine to go through its secondary fermention in large stainless steel tanks, versus in its own bottle as is done with the Champagne method. Today, sparkling wines all over the world, most notably in Italy with Prosecco, are made using the Charmat method.
