Quinta de Soalheiro is a pioneer winery in the production of Alvarinho (Albariño) wines, located in Melgaço, the northernmost point of Portugal. This Quinta lies in an environment protected by a mountain range that provides the vineyards with the ideal conditions for this variety to ripen perfectly. Certified organic in the vineyards since 2006.

Soalheiro has demonstrated, just in case there was any doubt, that the Vinho Verde region of Portugal can produce Alvarinho (Albariño) that is every bit as compelling as those just a bit further north in Spain. Compared to Vinho Verde of 15 years ago, these wines have far more flesh, concentration and complexity, and are a joy to drink. Producer notes ~ "Soalheiro Alvarinho has the nickname ‘Clássico’, as it was the first wine ever to be made by the family, back in 1982. Since then, it remains our most classic style of single varietal Alvarinho, with aromatic freshness, intense flavour, and an unusual evolution in the bottle – it is a wine that goes well with any occasion!"
