While Gruner Veltliners in liter bottles aren't exactly a new thing, this 2019 entry from Weingut Der Pollerhof has us excited. It feels like a step above in overall complexity from the usual bottle capped versions (not that there's anything at all wrong with those wines) showing a bit more minerality and seamless balance.

This Pollerhof exhibits the classic Gruner Veltliner character of tropical fruits, citrus, apple and white pepper all rolled into a fresh, light to medium bodied palate with a finish of vibrant, bright acidity. It has been a big hit with our staff and wine bar guests and is verging on becoming addictive. It is too easy to take home and makes for a party in a bottle (note the extra generous liter size). It's also delicious paired with spicy Asian cuisine.
