About the Icons
Red Stitch produces one of our favorite Napa Cabernets in the sub-$200 range, and we could make a strong argument that it over-delivers at the price. Rich and expansive, delicious now with a grilled steak or an aged, hard cheese such as a pecorino, it is also a great candidate for 10-20 years in the cellar for those of you lucky enough to have one. Only 275 cases were made, and the fruit was from carefully selected vineyard blocks, one in Coombsville AVA, and the other in the Oak Knoll AVA, both sub-appellations of Napa Valley.
Producer Notes ~ "This vintage will be remembered for its ability to satisfy enophiles with its upfront drinkability coupled with layers of complexity that will reveal themselves over time in the cellar. As always, the addition of a small amount of Malbec melds perfectly with the Cabernet Sauvignon bringing incredible deep color to the eye and tasty notes of tobacco, leather, and chocolate to this special 2019 Red Stitch Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Ripe and extroverted, with a friendly blast of raspberry and black currant puree framed by singed tobacco, licorice and alder. Reveals a brushstroke of tar on the finish as the fruit keeps pace. Drink now through 2030."
